THE BEGINNINGS
Many jews came to settle in Eastern Europe and in Russia as well. They were confronted with a hostile attitude of the government when they came to Russia.
However, things changed when czar Alexander II ascended the throne. The local jewish people were to have better and happier times. For the first time the jews occupied ranking professions such as physician, architect, industrialist or lawyer.
The liberal czar even trusted them with the scientific- and economic recovery of Russia. Even the Central Bank of Russia came under jewish control.
But these prosperous times did not last long. When the jews were suspected of the assassination of czar Alexander II on March 13, 1881. It came to an unsurpassed pogrom as a result.
Shortly after that, a group of idealistic jews fled to Palestine to seek a place of refuge also for their misfortune companions.
In the vicinity of Jaffa they bought a piece of land to grow wheat and other vegetation. After some time, other jews from Russia and Romania as well arrived in Palestine. In the year 1883, two hundred jewish families were settled and spread over six territories. This is the beginning of Zionism.
However, Zionism as we know it today and the impulse to the political party was done by Theodore Herzl, a jew of Hungarian origin. He graduated from the university of Salzburg, Austria. He became a journalist-correspondent in France for the newspaper in Vienna “Neue Freie Presse” His Zionist views and ideas to solve the problems political as well economical he summarized in a book “Der Judenstaat” in 1895. Two years later, he called for the World Organization. The first congress was held in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to Herzl himself, the most important goal to establish a new and independent Homeland for the jews of Eastern Europe, who were under threat.

THE ROTHSCHILD
The family the Rothschild made it possible for the British to purchase the Suez Canal in 1875. This way England obtained the moral authority in Egypt.
At the time, the British declared that Palestine was a strategic side for the defense of the Suez Canal; they ended the Turkish rule over Palestine. This was done by means of a campaign headed by general Allenby.

The Mandate of Palestine was awarded at the Conference in San Remo, in April 1922. Two years later, the League of Nations (presently the United Nations) transferred the mandate to Great Britain. This mandate of the League of Nations and England obtained the total rule over Palestine. The Jewish Agency would take over the representation of Palestine.
The intention was that this organization having the power over the mandate would co-operate and give advice about the founding of the Jewish National Homeland.
This task was appointed to the World Zionist Organization, formerly known as the Zionist Organization and International Federation of Zionist groups, founded by Theodore Herzl.
In the thirties of the past century, the organization was functioning as a government for the future Jewish state.
One of the biggest problems the Rothschild, and the Zionists were confronted with was that the greater part of the jews were not even interested to emigrate to Palestine. They preferred the United States as the country of immigration.

Every Zionist does not necessarily have to be a jew. Many Zionists are atheists. Also, these Jews who are in favor of Zionism don’t even care about religion. Most of them don’t consider themselves as a religious group.
According to the Zionists, the difference between them and the Jews from Europe are too big. There was no way they could live together. The World Zionist Organization started propaganda campaigns claiming that the Zionist jews and the jews from Europe could live together. They had to emigrate immediately and unconditionally to Palestine. No response.
Judaism is a religion of mysticism and Zionism is a political movement. The goal of both, forming the present state of Israel, is a one world government ruled by capitalists.

After the world knew about the persecutions and the so-called Holocaust of the jews, during the Nazi regime, they gained much sympathy. By feeling sorry for them after the Second World War the Zionism dream became reality by the proclamation of the State of Israel by David Ben Gurion in Tel Aviv May 14th 1948. Meanwhile, many thousands of jews emigrated to Israel. Military-and economic power increased, and the sovereignty of Israel as a state was recognized by the Superpowers.
Many Judeo-Christians and Evangelicals are looking at Zionism as a fulfillment of the Biblical Old Testament. For them, Yahweh’s Promises came true by the proclamation of the State of Israel. And these facts are explained by the greater part of the “Christians” as Bible prophecy.
