The Highest Prophet

The Child of Bethlehem: Part 1 The Highest Prophet. Biblical Meditation.

Repost: Edited

To read: Deuteronomy 5:22-28 and 18:15-18

The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto Him ye shall hearken. Deuteronomy 18:15

When God made His covenant with His people Israel and gave His Law Moses received a Promise.  During this powerful event on the foot of Mount Sinai, the people were full of trembling to hear the awe-inspiring voice of God. The people did not dare to listen. They asked Moses to be their mediator.

Deuteronomy 5:27 Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it.

This vocation as a prophet to receive the word of Yahweh God and to deliver the word of Yahweh to the people Moses, did fulfill this task faithfully for many years. It is all now coming to an end as Moses will be relieved of his vocation. Who will now deliver the will of God to the people? Will the LORD keep silent now Moses does not speak anymore?

At this time just before his passing on Moses, the man of Yahweh God delivers the mystery to the people. The mystery of the Awaiting that was hidden in the unparalleled house of Moses. And just this mystery that Moses kept as the most precious treasure for many years is now revealed. The most precious treasure was the empowerment for Moses to perform in his house as a mediator. The empowerment has given him encouragement and hope while he released the rod of God from his hands.

The Highest Prophet and Teacher is on His way and He shall fully reveal God’s will to His people.

We do not need to ask Who is hidden in this title. Isn’t Yahshua Christ the Prophet Who would come into this world? Especially concerning to the prophecy of the Bible verse it becomes crystal clear that His Life’s Work written in Hebrews For this Man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He Who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house Hebrews 3:3

The Life and the house of Moses are a typology, a representation of Christ. Moses was called by God to a task that is very different from of any other prophet. Moses delivered the Hebrew people out of bondage, taught and lead the people through the desert. Moses who received Yahweh’s Law, Moses the warrior, the advocate, the mediator was as a servant of Yahweh God a meek man toward the stiff-necked and always complaining people. The man of God who carried Yahweh’s Name in His heart and was focused on the well-being of the people. That’s why Moses was able to say that Yahweh God was to raise a Prophet “like unto me.” To the house of Moses, the image of Yahshua Christ is exalted.

At the same time, we understand that the truth exceeds the shadow. In the light of Yahshua Christ, the luster of Moses becomes dull. The Highest Prophet, after all, descended from Yahweh, the Father, Himself.

The Highest Prophet knew the truth of Yaweh God by that what He had seen and heard from the Father as the begotten Son of God. He has accepted and fulfilled the will of the Father. As the begotten Son He, made known the Way and the Truth.

Moses knew Yahweh God and the Hebrew people knew Moses as their brother who approached Yahweh God in their name prayed for them when they were murmuring and disobedient. Israel needed Moses as their mediator. But we sure do need a Prophet and Mediator as did Israel.

  • HE Who was moved with compassion about those that were lost.
  • HE Who was meek and lowly at heart.
  • HE Who has taken defamation and scorn.

In Him was abuse and scorn of all the prophets fulfilled. Knowing this all, nonetheless, He went this way to become equal to His brethren. The Highest Prophet called by Yahweh God to be in the midst of His brethren whose flesh and blood He took on.

  • This Prophet to Whom we can go to with all the needs for our soul.
  • This Prophet in Whom we can rest from our heavy burden.
  • This Prophet from Whom we may receive  the words of new- and everlasting Life.
  • This Prophet Who is our only Mediator and Advocate to the Father.

This is the Prophet given unto us by Yahweh God Himself.  But, by the words of Moses to Yahweh God, our prayers and thoughts go much higher than the top of Mount Sinai and Mount Nebo. Our words climb all the way to Heaven, for the highest Prophet is called, and from where He came to make known the Name of the Yahweh. Yahweh God Who has once spoken through Moses and the prophets in many ways and many times has now -in these Last Days!- spoken through the Son. In Him, God’s will of deliverance is made known to mankind who do not know- or do not desire to know the Way of God.

  • Nobody of the Hebrew people did ask for Moses! However, Yahweh God sent Moses out of His free will to deliver Israel from Egyptian bondage.
  • Nobody did or does ask for the Child of Bethlehem. Yahweh God did send Him for the deliverance of His People

How much then are we called to listen to the Voice of the Prophet speaking of Life- and Love Everlasting. And Moses says emphatically, “unto Him ye shall hearken”

Yahshua Christ did not come to be worshiped. He came to be heard. He came to redeem. Yahshua Christ was not a servant but the Highest Prophet Who came to serve.
