Did the Church replace the tribes of Israel? Not according to the Bible. God has drawn several beautiful pictures in the Old Testament. The events in Abraham’s life and maybe even before that God’s Redemption Plan was already in place for all nations.
–Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Abraham and Isaac
Abraham, Isaac and two of their young men were on their way to the place were Abraham was to offer his son Isaac. Abraham and Isaac and two persons and an event in the OT. Two of their young men that traveled with them: representing the NT. A total of four people in the OT representing the Four Gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke and John of the NT. The four Gospels that lead to salvation for mankind, for all nations.
— Genesis 22:1 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
After two days of travel and on the third day before Abraham was to offer Isaac. The Place afar off: Mount Moriah, Golgotha, three crosses, three days later God Himself as His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ would pay the price for the sin committed in the Garden of Eden. God manifested in the Flesh.
–Genesis 22:4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
Abraham knew that his sin was forgiven because he had a Redeemer. Abraham fully trusted God.
–1Peter 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. –Hebrews 11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son.
By faith the house of Rahab remained standing. All of the inhabitants of Jericho died, but only this woman of many pleasures and all of her family were saved. This gentile woman is adopted to God’s people. And is in the ancestry of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:5).
–Hebrews 11:31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
Ruth and Naomi
Ruth a gentile woman and Naomi is Israel both on their way to her homeland. Noami’s homeland there where Boaz is. The birth of a child. The birth of a child to Ruth a gentile woman represents a translation. Ruth must have handed the child to Naomi because she Naomi took the child. Herewith she gets her inheritance back. A translation takes place and Israel is restored. Boaz second kinsman to Elimelech, married Ruth and bought the land. The first kinsman was initially willing to buy the parcel of land, but heard a marriage with Ruth was to be part of the inheritance. The kinsman withdrew his rights and resigned the inheritance to Boaz. Israel is not ready as yet to accept Jesus Christ as the Redeemer. Boaz representing Lord Jesus Christ.
–-Ruth 1:16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:
–Ruth 2:1 And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.
–Ruth 4:4-6 And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem it, redeem it but if thou wilt not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know: for there is none to redeem it beside thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem it. 5 Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi thou must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance. 6 And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it.
–Ruth 4:15-17 And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him. 16 And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it 17 And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse the father of David.
God is telling us in the OT what was to come true in the NT and what still is to come true in the time to come. God is painting with His Words the most beautiful pictures.
- 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism
- 6 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
–Galatians 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed,

–Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;”
The twelve tribes of Israel mentioned on the pearly gates
–Revelation 21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.
The names of the 12 apostles on 12 foundations. The 12 apostles were Israelites from the tribe of Judah, as was Lord Jesus Christ.
–Revelation 21:13,14 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
East, north south and west gates. God shall gather His elect from the four corners of the earth including the tribes of Israel
—Matthew 13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
–Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
God Himself as, His Only Begotten Son Lord Jesus Christ, fulfilled the Law He once gave to Moses to perfection
